Colorado plans and weekend happenings

So, somehow many people have already heard this and yet I've only told a handfull of people... it seems that the Colorado move has been temporarily put on hold.  It seems like God is either not opening doors or closing them, either way things just aren't coming together.  After thinking it through and talking it over with my roomie aka moving buddy, we both agreed that another summer here wouldn't be so bad.  I'd be able to pay off my car, pay off some debt, save a little extra cash plus another summer of wakeboarding with a boat available to us is always a decent consolation. ;)  I am slightly dissapointed that I won't be a mountain dweller for at least 6 more months, alot can change in 6 months. As much as it pains me to say, in 6 months I could be headed a whole other direction and not move at all... eeeeek!  Well, as it stands now I will continue to pray about it and ask for more wisdom and more direction and keep plodding forward.

The wedding this past weekend was fun, not quite what I thought it would be but still enjoyable.  The bride was radiant.  The groom was beeming.  A good time was had by all.  My nephew was one of the two ring bearers, he managed to make it down the isle with zero tears or tantrums.  Good job buddy!  At the reception he was quite the ladys man.  I think he loved all the attention he would get when jumping and spinning on the dance floor trying his hardest to look cool and confident.  At one point in the evening I watched him walk confidently up to one of the bridesmaid and ask her to dance with him, haha, she of course agreed and he led her out onto the dance floor. Oh how I love that kid!

Isaac and Calvin eyeing the cake.  When he thought he just couldn't wait any longer for cake he asked my sister(his mom) when we could actually partake in the sugary goodness. She told him not til the bride and groom had some first.  He then marched up to Jordan and told him it was time for cake.

He finally got a piece of the cake and enjoyed it immensely!

He made sure he got every last bite, even the stuff falling on the table didn't escape.

Job Hunt

So I'm beginning to get incredibly frusterated regarding finding a job in CO...
I've only been really looking since the beginning of Jan so really it's not all that long, I really shouldn't be this frusterated this soon.  I have plenty of time, really I do.  But, I don't want to be so bull headed that I'm pursuing something if God isn't opening any doors.  I'm just so confused.  If you think about it, much prayer in this area would be highly appreciated!  That I would know if I'm supposed to move, that God will open (or close) more doors so that wherever He wants me is more obvious to this stubborn mind of mine.  Writing on the wall, a wet sheepskin or a parting sea would be acceptable signs... ;)

In other news...

We are supposed to get more snow this week, yesss! I love snow.  Slightly happy that some of the "old snow" melted away yesterday so that it's not as crazy as last year but oh so excited for the fresh snow that is to arrive at some point this week! =)
Oh, and I (along with a couple friends) will be headed to KC this weekend for my sisters husbands brothers wedding (or my bro-in-laws bro, and he is also my friend it's just so much more fun to say it the other way, haha).  I am expecting dancing and much fun to be had by all.

I've had this pork tenderloin in my freezer for about a month now that I got on sale.  I haven't been home or made the time to make it but decided that tonight, since it was snowy and I'd be home all night I'd give it a whirl. I found a recipe for guidance online and kinda winged it a bit.  The following recipe is an estimate of what I used, I didn't actually measure stuff out so you'll just kinda have to test and taste it as you go.

Marmalade Pork Loin

1lb pork tenderloin, cut into 6 pieces.

salt and pepper

3/4 cup orange marmalade

2 T worcestershire sauce

1 tsp ground ginger

ground marjoram

Sprinkle salt and pepper over pork pieces. Bake uncovered for 15 min at 425.  Mix marmalade, worcestershire sauce and ginger together then spoon over pork pieces.  Sprinkle marjoram over pork.  Bake another 10-15 min.  Take out of the oven and let set for 10 min covered (I transferred the meat to a serving bowl and poured the sauce over the top and then let it set). Serve and enjoy.

SNOOOOOW!!

That's right, we are getting our first measurable snowstorm today/last night. yah! I love snow, it just doens't feel like winter until you've found your car buried in the cold white stuff.  Now, last years snow experience was a but much. The constant thaw, then freeze then thaw then freeze was getting a little old after two months.  But now it's the middle of Jan and it's about time snow made an appearance.  I have to say as appealing as it sounds to move to a warmer climate where you can wear shorts year round I would truly miss these little white puffs who decend from the sky. =)
~I'm crossing my fingers and hoping we will get to leave early today so I can enjoy some of this frozen goodness while it's still light out.

Lets just wait and see

So time is ticking away and I'm still no closer to finalizing my Colorado plans.  I have now applied to about 8 different jobs (3 of which have told me that my resume is now out of the mix) and I'm just waiting and praying that someone will call me back for an interview.  While I'd like to get a job in a hospital working 3 or 4 days a week it's looking at this point like that is not going to happen.  I've come to grips with the fact that I'm going to have to lean on my experience and get a 5 day a week job in an office.  Oh well, hopefully I have plenty of vacation days to use to come back home.
Once/if I get a job nailed down it's on the apartment hunt.  I've looked into some apartments already and it's a little overwhelming.  Everything is more expensive out there and just well different, but then that's what I'm going for. =)  The other day it all started to sink in and it got a little scary, the moving, the new job, the new church, so far away from my family.  But honestly I'm kinda looking forward to the scary. (sounds weird right? haha).
So last week I went to get a new drivers license since mine will be expiring on Tuesday.  I thought long and hard about what I should wear and how to do my hair and made sure I put on eye makeup that day also.  Then I realized that I would only have to put up with this photo for about 3 months before I become a Colorado resident and getting a snazzy new license from that beautiful state~good thing too cause the picture I ended up with is prob the worst one to date! I'm fully convinced that the DMV people wait until you hafe a riduculous expression on your face and only then will they click the button to capture your haphazard appearance and stick you with it for the next five years.  I'm deteremined that my wonderful new CO lisence will be just that, wonderful and beautiful and not looking like I'm daydreaming or off in lala land. phew!

New Year

This past weekend was fun filled and crazy.

Between New Year festivities and my cousins wedding I stayed pretty busy!

For New Years I went out to eat with a few friends then headed back to my brothers house for some games and entertainment.  We played a new game called "Qwelf", ever hear of it?  Me niether.  It turned out to be some crazy filled fun.  You see as the game progresses new rules are added and/or changed which makes it an entirely different game every time you play, but then that's the fun of it. =)  WE were so enthralled in this amazing game that we nearly missed midnight.  Someone noticed in time to scramble and pop the champaign, phew!

I left my dear brothers house by about 3am-ish, plenty of time to get home, pack for my cousins wedding and get roughly 3 hrs of sleep, hooray! Fortunately I wasn't going to be doing any driving on our 6 hr trek to iowa so I was able to get plenty of sleep in the car... well as much sleep as you can get crammed in the back seat with your little sister and her boyfriend. ;)  

The wedding was fun, cold but fun.  The bride was beautiful, the ring bearer and flower girl were adorable, my cousin, the groom, was so crazy in love you just couldn't help but smile.  And there was a square dance.  Now I have to be honest, I was rather skeptical at first.  But then my cousin needed a dance partner so I filled in and what do you know, it was kinda fun. 

After the reception ended we all headed back to the hotel to keep the party going just a little longer.  It was fun, makes me sad that my whole family doesn't all live around here.  I also realized there are only three grandkids left on to get married, one of them being me.   wow!

I have a follower, its now an official blog!

I have my first follower, yesssss! Granted, it's just my sister but I'll take what I can get. =)
Over Christmas I was discussing blogging with her and mentioned, ya I started a blog. "Really" she says, "I didn't know!  How do I find it?"  This was exciting to me that someone else was excited to read my thoughts and tantrums. =)  and today I see she managed to find it and follow it officially, yah!
