I have a home! phew!

So for those of you who were wondering about my future place of residence... no worries, I will not be living in a cardboard box. phew!  We (my current roommate and my roomie to be) found a house.
We aren't THAT crazy... I promise! =)
Yep, not an apartment, not a duplex, a whole house! All to ourselves.  AND we each have our own bathroom. sweeet!  Now I grew up sharing a bathroom, and the first time I moved out I shared a bathroom for 4 years.  But over the last year I've had my very own bathroom and it would be so very hard to go back to sharing! seriously!  I think if I get married someday I'll make the hubby use another bathroom. haha I like to spread my stuff out. =)
Anyway, we will be moving this weekend.  The one weekend this month that is it snowing and cold and everyone is busy.  Man, can we pickem.
The wonderful thing about this place (well there are many wonderful things really) is that if I'm understanding the lease correctly we technically only have to stay for 6 months.  So CO is still in the mix, thank you Jesus! =)  Oh and we have a garage and a huge backyard and it's just a few blocks from my church.  and it has a wood burning fireplace and we will have basically two living rooms (one upstairs, one downstairs) and we can have EDGE bible study at our house now. yah!
The downsides (yes, there are a few), I have no closet, technically speaking.  There are these makeshift built-in things that have no front.  But we'll just throw a curtain up and it will be dandy. Oh and the sump pump is in my bedroom, BUT I'm pretty sure my bedroom is the largest so that's ok. And it's downstairs alll by iteself, I kinda like that.  We have to do our own yardwork and snow removal but honestly I don't mind mowing (snowscooping is another deal entirely).  Also its across town from work, this is the biggest bummer of them all.  But I've done it before (drove across town every day for 3 years to go to work) I can do it again.  It'll be fine.
So that's the jist of it. We have a roof over our head and I'm looking forward to having more room. yah.

In other news... it's snowing... I thought spring was on it's way.  Though I spose it's only Feb.  I'm done with winter and cold weather, I'm ready for lake days and wakeboarding!!! Come oooon summer!
~I decided we should just skip spring and go straight into summer. ;)
This will be me this summer... haha

Time is tick tick ticking away!

Anyone else grow up listening to DC talk?  I loved them, though I wasn't technically allowed to listen to them til I was in highschool.  My mom thought they were too hard core or something. I dunno. haha
Sorry, that was my random thought for the day... well for now at least.

So it is now Feb 16th and we have 12 days before we have to be completely out of our apartment... and we still haven't signed a lease. eeeeh!  We found one duplex that we really like (which is like 5 min from my workplace, more sleep, yah!) and one other house that we looked at tonight.  That one is like 3 blocks from our church, which would be nice on like Sundays and Wednesdays, but every other day of the week I would have to be leaving my house about the time I get up right now (no, I don't put much effort into my appearance most days for work. so shoot me).  The house is super cute, huge back yard, deck and a real fireplace.  Either place would really be fine by me.  I spose there are pros and cons either way.
Oh, I officially packed my second box last night, woot! So now I only have about 20 bajillion left to go. =)  Packing is such a boring mundane task, I just can't bring myself to stop whatever else I'm doing and get it done.  It's like laundry.  You feel good if you can actually bring yourself to get it done, it's the getting it done...

Today I decided that I wanted to make my own granola.  I've been rather addicted to yogurt of late, but all I've been eating is that Yoplait Light stuff which has soooooo much sugar.  And it's aspertame sugar so it's even worse for you!  Ok, so all that to say that I decided I should eat plain low fat yogurt.  But that stuff tastes so  blah.  So I decided to make some yummy crunchy granola to sprinkle over the top and get frozen fruit to add some sweetness (it's almost impossible to find unsweetened frozen fruit!!)  Anyway, following is my, I can't find the granola recipe I was given so I'm just gonna wing it granola. =)

3 cups oats
1 cup milled flaxseed
1 cup coconut (yes, I used sweetened. deal with it)
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
~mix dry in large bowl~

1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup maple syrup (the REAL stuff)
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp allspice
~mix together then pour over dry mixture~
bake at 300 degrees for 30 min stirring every 10 min.

It still needs a little tweeking but I'd say for my first go round it turned out pretty good.
OH, and it makes the plain organic low fat yogurt totally edible. (ok, so I drizzled a little extra honey over my yogurt) yum!

It's good to laugh!

Things that have made me chuckle this past week...

->This bumper sticker I saw on a truck.  I seriously laughed out loud and kept chuckling for the next couple blocks.

-> One my way to work one morning some crazy driver pulled out in front of me, SHE totally cut ME off.  I quickly switched lanes so as not to rear-end her.  When I was passing her she glared at me and blared her horn... really?  I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

-> This joke I found while googling what the difference between NCIS and JAG are.  The funny part is every answer was in reference to the TV shows and not the actual military departments.  Our society is soooo entertainment driven.
Oh, the joke (it's only slightly inappropraite... my parents and I all got a good laugh out of it)
Q:What is the difference between a pregnant lady and a lightbulb?
A: You can unscrew a lightbulb.
*stop frowning... it's funny, laugh!

-> On monday we got a new phone system at work.  Somehow something got messed up and when you called our office you got the recording that our number has been disconnected.  It's since been fixed, *phew!

->The fact that I have to be out of my apartment in 19 days and we still haven't signed a lease and I haven't even begun packing.  I'm not worried... It will all work out... I hope... do any of you have a spare couch I can crash on?

->Kickboxing class last wednesday night. Amy and I could NOT keep up with that instructor. Pretty sure we looked like fools.  "Kick KiCk KICK!"

->The fact that I am sitting at work writing this blog entry... I really should get back to work... but I'm not motivated... Ok ok, I'm going...

To My future...

A friend showed me this.  Most of them are super cute, a couple are just jerky.  But all in all I'm sure you'll get a kick out of reading them, I sure did. =)
