So I really have not much to say... but I said I would try and post once a week... I hate those rambling posts people have... but it's looking like that is what this is developing into... Ok... hmmm....
Well, Awana starts at our church on wednesday and I'm terribly excited. I've missed seeing those girls (I help with the 3-5 grade girlies, TNT) every week and getting an update on whats new with them. I look forward to helping them learn and understand their verses each week. Understanding mainly. So often it seems like they just memorize the verse to get the section signed off and the pin on their badge. But then I remember being there. I remember stumbling and scrambling through my sections each week so I could earn that coveted trophy at the end of the year. Sadly I remember very few of what I "memorized" so very long ago. I really want my girls to think about what they are reciting, to hide in their heart the treasure of the words they are scrambling to memorize. I hope that I can make some impact, eternal impact, on these girls this year. If you think about it pray for them, not just my 3-5 grade girlies, but all the kids coming to club that they would really think about the words they are memorizing and reciting back to the leaders. Pray that us leaders will take any opportunity we see to explain to them and make sure they understand what they are saying. Oh and for patience... my mom said never to pray for patience unless you are ready to be tested...lol. Well, I'm ready Lord, help me to have patience with the screaming and squealing little rascals You send to club each week. =)
OH, we had amazing weather today! sadly I wasn't able to really experience it... I was stuck inside my office building staring at a computer screen. Hopefully someday I won't be stuck inside 40 hrs a week... but we'll see.
Funny story... I stopped by my sisters house after work to pick something up from her. My 4 yr old nephew was standing up to the kitchen counter ready to help his momma made some "special candy bars". After looking over the ingredients I asked him if he was making granola bars. Apparently my words weren't as clear as I intended because he immediately corrected me and informed me that they were making "boy bars" and maybe they would make some "girl bars" too... hahaha, oh how I love that kid!
